Effective Date: May 4, 2026
Scratch The Date (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your personal information when you use our mobile application (the “App”) or visit our website (the “Website”). By using the App or Website, you consent to the data practices described in this policy. We comply with applicable data protection and privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other relevant regulations in the regions where we operate.
Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual, such as name, email, or saved date ideas.
Processing: Any operation performed on personal data, including collection, storage, use, sharing, or deletion.
When you create an account, we collect information such as your email address and password, and may collect other details (including but not limited to name, age, and preferences). You are responsible for providing accurate information and for keeping your login details secure. Account data is used to create and manage your account, provide customer support, and enable App features.
When you sign up for an account, your email address will be used to send you important service-related updates about the App. In addition, you are automatically subscribed to our newsletter, which we send based on our legitimate interest in keeping users informed. Newsletters may include news, tips, and updates about Scratch The Date. You can unsubscribe at any time by following the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us directly. Where applicable law requires explicit opt-in consent for promotional communications, we will request it separately. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
The App allows you to save and store date ideas, notes, and related metadata (such as timestamps and preferences). This information is necessary for the core functionality of the App, such as tracking your saved ideas, personalizing recommendations, and restoring your account data. Because saved date ideas and notes are an essential part of providing the App's services, they are processed on the legal basis of contract performance under GDPR. You can manage and delete your saved content within the App at any time.
We collect limited technical information required to run the App securely and reliably, such as device model, operating system version, and IP address. This information is used for compatibility, security, and fraud prevention.
When you visit our Website, our hosting provider (one.com) automatically records standard server access logs as part of normal web server operation. These logs may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used to maintain website security, diagnose technical issues, and monitor for abuse. Server log data is processed on the legal basis of legitimate interests.
We use the following third-party service providers to operate and improve the App. Each provider processes your data only as needed to deliver their services:
Some of these providers, including OpenAI, Inc., may process your data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. See "International Data Transfers" below for the safeguards we rely on.
App: Third-party providers such as Firebase, AdMob, and OpenAI may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar tracking technologies to provide analytics, advertising, and improve service reliability. You can manage your preferences through your device settings or as provided by the respective third-party providers.
Website: Our Website does not set first-party cookies and uses only web-safe system fonts to avoid third-party tracking through font delivery networks.
We process your personal data based on the following legal grounds:
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted providers (listed above) to perform services on our behalf.
Under the CPRA, “sharing” includes cross-context behavioral advertising. We may share limited data with advertising partners (e.g., AdMob) for this purpose. You can opt out of such sharing through your device settings or by contacting us.
If required by law (e.g., a court order), we may disclose data and will notify you unless prohibited by law.
Your information may be transferred outside your country of residence, including outside the EEA. We implement safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission to protect your data when transferred internationally.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide services, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized.
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
EEA/Sweden: You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Sweden, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY).
California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have the right to know, access, delete, and opt out of the sale of personal data (we do not sell data). You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.
Other Regions: Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws.
To exercise your rights, contact us at support@walmin.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing requests.
You can access and update account information from within the App. You can request deletion of your account and data via the App or by contacting us. Requests will be processed promptly, generally within 30 days.
If you subscribe to premium features, billing is handled by the platform's payment system (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play) or a third-party payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers.
The App is intended for adults and is not suitable for individuals below the applicable age limit. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the required age. If you believe we have collected data from a user below the applicable age, contact us so we can delete it promptly.
See Age Suitability for more details.
We implement reasonable safeguards (encryption, access controls, secure storage) to protect your information. Third-party providers also follow industry security standards. However, no system is completely secure. If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you promptly in accordance with applicable laws.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page and, where required, by in-app notification or email. The "Effective Date" will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
